Using biotechnology, GREENSEA is developing the immense potential of marine and freshwater vegetation for the creation of cosmetic substances which are totally innovative.

GREENSEA extracts, purifies, characterises and transforms the active molecules produced by algae and marine plant life.

The use of predictive transcriptome tests, in-vitro tests on cells, and tests in-vivo on volunteers allows for demonstration of the efficacy of the products, and to tease out the mechanism of the way they work.

Collected from the four corners of the earth, and sometimes in extreme conditions, the macroalgae and marine plant life selected by GREENSEA show some novel cosmetic activity.

– The active compound XCELL-30® developed from microalgae endemic to Madagascar, specifically acts on cellular turnover in the basal layer of the epidermis, thus allowing for the preservation of the youthful characteristics of the skin.

– QT-40®, an oligosaccharide elaborated by biochemical engineering starting from the macroalga Ulva lactuca, thanks to its redensifying action on the matrix of the dermis, is recommended for plumping out and re-sculpting the ovality of the face.

The microalgae produced by GREENSEA under controlled conditions are themselves also an endless source for innovation. In addition to the extreme diversity of the cultured species, the techniques of metabolic manipulation developed by GREENSEA allows for the creation of novel active ingredients.

Manipulating cellular metabolism in microalgae for the production of useful biochemical compounds is, in fact, a truly innovative road

– Silidine® is a subtle mixture of oligosaccharides and oligoelements which is derived from oxidative stressing of the microalga Porphyridium cruentum. Thanks to its vasoconstrictive action on the skin microvasculature, this compound constitutes a response to the problem of flushing and heavy legs syndrome.

The Greensea research lab is in constant identification search, testing and scaling up new products fueling an already comprehensive catalog.
